McFarlane Shipdesign has designed a new 107m polar expedition cruise ship for Oceanwide. Multi was appointed by McFarlane Shipdesign to perform the basic design package. The vessel has a Polar Class 6 notation, which demands ice strengthening of the shell and specific requirements for the piping.
Multi performed the scantling and piping calculations that resulted in the class required construction drawings and diagrams.
During the lead time of the project, length and beam of the vessel were adapted to optimize the vessel and suit the client demands.
Additionally, a detailed weight calculation was performed for the steel structure.
